Candy Cane Mug - Original Painting

$125.00

The candy cane, one of the many well loved symbols of Christmas. It’s shepherd’s-staff shape, and the “J” it forms when flipped point to Jesus as our Good Shepherd who loves and guides us down the paths which lead to righteousness (Psalm 23), while its white color represents our sins which have been forgiven, and the red stripes symbolize the blood that He shed for us. I attempted to capture the significance in symbolism of the candy cane in this painting along with keeping the light hearted holiday feel in this piece.

I personally recommend placing this painting in a frame on an entry way table, above a fire place with stockings, or over by your hot cocoa bar.

Painted on Arches Hot Press 300 GSM Watercolor Paper using M. Graham watercolors.
