Christmas Ornament - Original Painting

$125.00

With the coming of this holiday season I am reminded of nostalgic, warm memories of being with the people I love most in life and sharing comforting home cooked meals with each other. Decorating the Christmas tree however is not one of these fond memories. Countless numbers of ornaments were broken in my house over the course of my childhood including a Christmas tree. I specifically remember, one year, my second oldest sister and I mischievously lassoing the tree with our trusty jump ropes and an exercise band, and proceeding to drag it around the house while pretending to be lumberjacks. Needless to say, my poor mother was not proud of our attempt to fell a tree in her living room and I’m sure, in that escapade alone, 20+ ornament’s were lost.

Now that I have entered my adult years I look forward to having a functioning Christmas tree (not flat on one side with all of the branches ripped off) and having some nice non-broken ornaments (sorry mom, it only took me 22 years to learn how to value decorating and having nice things). This painting is the first of many decorations I plan to make in my adult years. I hope you enjoy it!

Painted on Arches Hot Press 300 GSM Watercolor Paper using M. Graham watercolors.
